Boy, has it been a rough week around my house...First little Monkey came down with a stomach bug. The next day Bug was under the weather. It took my husband down the next day. And me you ask? Mom's still going strong (knock on wood!), although feeling a little queasy now and then. Do you ever get to the point where you can't tell whether you really feel sick or just the thought of having those sick people around you and knowing that you are likely next. Usually when the kids get something, I get something because they want to be held, hugged, rub their faces on your shoulder, you know what I mean!
Who loves a good road trip? I have always been a fan of them. Grab some books, my walkman (discman, mp3 player, ipod or iphone depending on the era), snacks and I was/am good to go. As kids we traveled to visit family frequently. In fact, my parents could probably tell you wonderful stories of my brother and I fighting in the back seat of the car. It never failed, an invisible line dividing the backseat of the car would eventually have to be drawn. So I spent all last week with my lovely little gals. Our daycare provider was still in Florida, and I took last week off work to hang out with our two little ladies. I wanted to do some special things with them--things I have wanted to do for a while...
So we had a busy week--Monday we went to the drop in playgroup we frequented when I was on mat leave. This is held at the Royal Distributing Athletic Performance Centre in Marden. Basically, it's an indoor soccer field that they open up to toddlers and preschoolers to run around and burn off some energy. It is perfect for cold winter days when
